As a human being these last few weeks have been truly educational. I have learned many new skills. I have been working on the Indian freedom Struggle and the Marriage Equality movement. The point was to find a way to connect movements knowing that they have happened at different times. Also you were supposed to learn what it means to be an activist. As a human I have learned that social movements take along time to work, the world is very repetitive, and the world is also very unsmart.
The world social movements take very long to get justice because people always want to never be defeated. Humans generally don't like to admit that they are wrong and accept defeat. Because of this social movements take forever to create justice. In example, India had freedom struggle because the British did not want to leave because of India's natural resources. Even when the British killed many peaceful protesting Indians the still did not leave. This is because they didn't want to accept defeat pr admit they were wrong and what they did was bad. Overall the worlds social movements take a while to gain justice because people are stubborn.
The world is repetitive in many ways but mostly because people don't want to accept change. For example, if you look at the Indian Freedom Struggle many people were oppressed because of the color of their skin and beliefs. Now if you bring your thoughts to modern day, LGBT people are being discriminated because of their beliefs. I believe that the world is like this because it doesn’t want to accept change. I believe that many people don't like change because they want everyone to be like them. Overall, the world is very repetitive because the people of the world do not want to except change.
I believe that the world is very naive because many people are getting upset over small matter that don’t affect their life. For example many LGBT people are being attacked just because they believe in different things. A school teacher was once killed just because he was gay. I believe the world is very naive because people are getting upset about things that don’t affect them. How does someone elses believing something different, affect the way that you live your life. They are saying that because the person next to me is different, it will affect the way that I live my life. In conclusion, the world is very naive because many people are getting upset about things that don’t affect their life.
In conclusion, as a human I have learned many things such as social movements take a long time to be successful and gain justice, the world is very repetitive, and naive. Social movements dont always solve injustices but when they do it is long after they started it. The world is repetitive because things that had happened in the 1800s are happening today. Lastly the world is naive because people are getting upset about things that don't affect them. My opinion is the world needs to change. We need to bring our mindsets out of the past and into the future.
